krafton® 236.40 FRP bridge decking plank

With a width of 236mm, this FRP bridge decking is unique in the krafton® range. With a narrow width of less than 300mm, this plank is particularly easy to handle and is widely used for footbridges, scaffolding, boardwalks and terraces.

krafton® 256.4 FRP bridge decking plank

Looks count too! With a span of 256.40, FRP bridge decking planks look like a wooden bridge with a wooden deck. This is because both sides of the plank are straight. During mounting, a joint is automatically formed between the FRP bridge decking elements. This makes the plank one of a kind.

krafton® 400.80 FRP bridge decking plank

The latest FRP bridge decking plank in our range is a real powerhouse. Where pedestrians have priority but emergency services need easy access, then opt for these FRP bridge decking elements. With a maximum permitted axle load of 10 tonnes, this is not a problem at all for this type of plank.

krafton® 500.35 FRP bridge decking plank

As far as FRP bridge decking goes, this is a very special type. In fact, it is not actually a bridge plank, but a platform plank. The panels are particularly suitable for the construction of scaffolding, boardwalks, terraces and platforms. It also works very well as a loading platform or floor loading for trailers. FRP bridge decking type krafton® 500.35 is the lightest in our range.

krafton® 500.40 FRP bridge decking plank

This is a standard FRP bridge decking plank of excellent quality for an attractive price, ideally suited for pedestrian bridges, cycle bridges and service vehicles. This makes krafton® 500.40 FRP bridge decking a popular and frequently chosen product for contractors, municipalities and government agencies.

krafton® 500.55 FRP bridge decking plank

At 55 mm, this FRP bridge decking plank is a little higher than our other FRP bridge decking elements. This means that the plank can take a heavier load and has less tendency to sag. The result, unique for FRP bridge decking of this size, is a pedestrian or cycle bridge that can be easily crossed by service vehicles and any vehicles that may happen to pass over it.

Wear layer

All bridge decking planks can, if required, be fitted with a wear layer. The wear layer is TÜV-tested and fitted with R12 and R13 slip resistance according to EN13501-1:2007+A1:2009 and ISO11925-2:2010. To meet the increasingly stringent environmental requirements, we decided to use a wear layer made from recycled glass. The glass that we use is no longer suitable for remelting into a new product. This makes our wear layer more sustainable than quarried macadam, which our wear layers were previously manufactured from. Glass is inherently highly resistant to wear and tear. This means that it will have a longer economic life and will require fewer periods of maintenance. This leads to a lower environmental impact. Glass has a high shatter resistance, is maintenance-friendly and is naturally resistant to moisture and dirt. It also retains its functional properties over a long period of time. The wear layer is available in fine sizes of 1-2 mm and 1-3 mm in a range of colours, with the 1-2 mm being our standard grit size. The wear layer with fine glass grit is nicer to walk on with bare feet. We can also apply a top coat to the planks. The top layer is a liquid-proof, high density sealing that encloses all glass particles, preventing any grit from coming loose.

Mounting methods

krafton® offers a wide choice of mounting methods. Mounting materials are essential, but unfortunately often forgotten, part of the connection between the bridge decking plank and the underlying structure. That is why krafton® has invested in the development and certification of the 12 methods which are what make krafton® unique on the European market. Mounting materials are included with the purchase of bridge decking, depending on the mounting method chosen.

Learn about our krafton® take-back guarantee

To ensure the circular nature of krafton® GRP decking, we have introduced a take-back guarantee. This take-back guarantee allows bridge decking contractors to return their GRP bridge decking when a temporary construction project is completed or when the GRP bridge decking is nearing the end of its service life. Used GRP bridge decking can often be given a second life, as good as new, without the need for major repairs. After all, the GRP material is resistant to UV, corrosion and chemicals, and with its hard-wearing structure and long service life, it is virtually impossible to break. Is the GRP Bridge decking really beyond repair? The GRP bridge decking is then recycled in its entirety and incorporated into new structures.

This take-back guarantee, together with our sustainable manufacturing processes, is a key element in our efforts to reduce our ecological footprint as much as possible. As a socially responsible company, our take-back guarantee is a powerful tool for our customers to make their goods and properties more sustainable.
