Decades of innovation with FRP Bridge Decks

Netherlands may be our home market, but we have also expanded our borders. From our facility in Heijningen, over the past 45 years krafton® has grown to become one of the best-known FRP manufacturers of FRP Bridge Decking Planks. Whereas previously, we used to produce only FRP Profiles, in 2002 we decided to start producing FRP Bridge Decking Planks. In response to the enormous popularity of this type of bridge, we decided to start manufacturing full FRP bridges in 2010. In addition to composite bridge decks, certified girders and railings started rolling off of our machines very soon after.

Crossing borders as an FRP Producer

Although the Netherlands is our home market, we also serve customers throughout Europe from our factory in Heijningen. We produce for an extensive customer portfolio, who have all made a deliberate decision to switch to a durable FRP Bridge Deck. In addition to infrastructure, (garden) construction, sports and recreation, our customers are also active within various industries, including offshore and energy engineering.

As an FRP supplier, we are always investing in our expertise and technical production resources. We also understand, however, that everything depends on a personal and warm relationship with our customers, stakeholders and partners. Our experienced experts and engineers often contribute innovative solutions to the project even before the design phase of the FRP Bridge Deck. With this approach, we jointly put in a lot of effort from the start, are realistic and subsequently deliver a fast, high-quality service at a fair price. Straightforward, practical and flexible. That is how we started out 40 years ago, and we continue to work in that way.

We want to offer our customers only the very best. The many certifications and approvals from renowned institutes in Europe testify to this approach: the DIBt (German Institute for Building Technology), TÜV Rheinland and EBA (German Federal Railway Authority), TNO and UCL. Needless to say, we produce our standard profiles according to NEN13706-E23, the European Guidelines drawn up for ‘Reinforced plastics composites – Specifications for pultruded profiles’. We feel that quality is manifested by supplying high-quality products at a fair price. Our well-organised internal business processes assure consistent quality. The result is what counts.
