krafton® 500.55 FRP Bridge Decking Plank
At 55 mm, this FRP bridge decking plank is slightly higher than our other FRP bridge decking elements. As such, the plank can handle heavier loads and is less subject to deflection. The result: a pedestrian or cycle bridge that service vehicles and even any incidental vehicles can cross with ease – unique for FRP bridge decking planks of this size. The planks also allow for a larger span than would be possible with bridge decking planks of a lower height. Another advantage of 500 mm wide bridge decking elements is that they can be laid and assembled quickly, since fewer planks are required per linear metre.

Everything about the krafton® 500.55 FRP Bridge Decking Plank
An FRP bridge deck consisting of this type of plank is laid with a male-female connection. As a result, the bridge decking elements are arranged tightly against each other.
The krafton® 500.55 FRP bridge decking plank can be mounted on support structures made of steel, composite or wood.
- For refurbishment and new construction
- Effective dimensions: 500x55mm
- Evenly distributed load of 5kN/m2 (500 kg per m2) at a span of 2560 mm
- Exceptionally high point load of 10 kN (1,000 kg) on 100x100mm.
- Suitable class="uk-table uk-table-striped uk-table-small" for service vehicles up to 5 tons (5,000 kg) and incidental vehicle up to 12 tons (12,000 kg).
- Maximum span width for vehicles 1,730 mm.
- Suitable class="uk-table uk-table-striped uk-table-small" for mounting on steel, composite and wooden support structure

The krafton® 500.55 plank has an ECI value of €1.68 m1 which converts to €3.36 m2, for a service life of 100 years. In comparison with a bridge deck made of wood, this is 66% lower, were a wooden deck must be replaced every 20 years (based on the EPD product card Footbridge (wood), category 3). In comparison with a bridge deck made of steel walking grids, this is 86.2% lower, were the steel walking grid needs to be replaced every 50 years (based on the EPD product card Walking grid; steel, galvanized and coated, category 3).
Technical properties krafton® 500.55 FRP Bridge Decking Plank
Depending on the deflection requirement, krafton® 500.55 can handle virtually any span and not reach the maximum bending stress. In other words, like all planks, krafton® 500.55 can effortlessly form an FRP bridge deck with the required FRP planks load.
