Technical properties krafton® 400.80 FRP Bridge Decking Plank
With its modest width of 400mm and its height of 80mm, the krafton® 400.80 is our most impressive powerhouse. This plank is used to create an FRP bridge deck that can handle, in addition to pedestrians and cyclists, a service vehicle weighing as much as 20 tons.
Please refer to the graphs and tables shown below for a visual representation.
Maximum span relative to deflection requirement
When a span is chosen in combination with a deflection requirement that is below the relevant lines in the graph, the krafton® 400.80 meets the requirements set for a bridge decking plank in accordance with the Dutch Building Decree for use as a cycle and pedestrian bridge deck. Depending on the deflection requirement, the krafton® 400.80 can handle almost any span and the maximum bending stress will not be reached. In other words, like all planks, krafton® 400.80 can effortlessly form an FRP bridge deck with the required FRP planks load.

Certifications and approvals of krafton® 400.80 FRP bridge decking plank
Like all krafton® FRP bridge decking planks, the krafton® 400.80 has been extensively tested and certified by several reputable institutes.
Since this FRP plank was developed recently, we are pleased to announce that we expect, in the near future, to obtain the necessary foreign certifications for this plank as well, such as the DIBt (German Institute for Building Technology) and the EBA (German Federal Railway Authority/Deutsche Bahn). Below please find the various reports we have achieved so far.
